Demarius Smith earned male player of the week honors after posting a pair of wins at the Tom Hathaway Distance Classic. Smith clocked a 21.85 en route to winning the 200 meters in a 44-person field. Not only is that mark a NAIA “A” standard, it is also the third fastest time in the NAIA this season. Smith followed that up by anchoring the Patriots 4x400 relay to a win with a time of 3:24.66. Both of those marks rank as the fastest time in the Mid-South Conference this season.
