University of the Cumberlands Athletics

Colton Easterwood earned male player of the week honors after throwing a complete game five hitter in Cumberlands opening game of the Mid-South Conference tournament.  Facing fourth-seed Cumberland the junior throw nine innings, allowing one run with six strikeouts for his third complete game of the season.  Easterwood retired the first nine batters he faced and hurled four one-two-three innings.  Easterwood didn’t allow a runner to reach third base until the seventh inning and got Pablo Custodio to ground into a 5-4-3 double play to end the game.  With the win Easterwood improves to 4-1 on the year with a 1.98 ERA.
