Fitzgerald earned the male athlete of the week honors after averaging 24 points per game and helping UC go 2-0 on the week.  The junior opened the week by tying a career-high 24 points, on 7-11 shooting, and grabbing five rebounds in the road win over Pikeville.  Fitzgerald converted 8-9 from the charity stripe to lead UC to the 79-70 victory.  Fitzgerald followed that up with another 24 points performance against Cumberland.  The Somerset, KY native went 9-13 from the  field, including sinking a career-high six three's, to lead Cumberlands to a 102-90 win and improve to 17-8.  Fitzgerald also grabbed seven rebounds in the game to finish with 12 boards on the week.
