Talli Burgess earned athlete of the week honors after pitched eight scoreless innings over the Patriots opening weekend sweep.  With UC in front 3-1 in the second game of the weekend, Burgess came in with a runner on and shutdown the Racers recording the final three outs, including a strikeout to pickup her first save of the season.  The Crandall, GA native followed that up with a complete game shutout as the Patriots swept Northwestern Ohio.  Burgess opened the game retiring eight straight batters, before forcing a flyout to keep the game scoreless.  The junior closed out the game retiring the final ten batters she faced as UNOH scattered four hits and only had one runner reach third.  The win helped UC improve to 3-0 on the season for the first time since 2002.
