Maria Neira earned player of the week honors after earning Medalist honors at the Mid-South Conference Championship.  The sophomore carded a 220 (+4) over the 54-hole tournament to capture the individual win, while leading the Patriots to their tenth conference title in the last 11 years.  Neira opened the tournament with a 77(+5) in the first round as her lone birdie came on hole 11.  The Caracas, Venezuela native followed it up with a 72 (E)in the second round to climb the leaderboard.  Neira sank a pair of birdies and carded 14 pars on the round to move into second place of the individual standings.  The sophomore saved her best round for last as she birdied two of the first five holes to move one-under-par.  After a bogey on hole 12, Neira sank a birdie on hole 18, before closing out with consecutive pars to finish the round with a 71 (-1) as she pulled away from the field for the three-stroke win.  Neira final round was tied for the lowest round of the tournament as she claimed Medalist honors and helped the Patriots secure an automatic berth to nationals.
