Alina Boshchuk earned athlete of the week honors after crossing the finish line in 17:28.60 for the 5k at the Southern Showcase.  That is the fastest 5k cross country time in program history as the freshman placed 25^th in a strong field consisting of mainly NCAA DI and DII competition.  After sitting at 38th place at the 1.6K split, the freshman jumped up seven spots to make it to 31st place at the 3.2K split. She finished strong, moving up six more spots to secure 25th place overall. Boshchuk cleared the previous school record of 17:44 which was held by Brittany Riggins at the 1997 Auburn Invitational by over 15 seconds.
