Darius James earned athlete of the week honors after tallying 157 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in UC’s 37-7 win over Faulkner. The Nashville, TN native rushed for 127 yards, while adding one reception for 26 yards. James got the scoring started in the first quarter with a four-yard touchdown run to put the Patriots in front 7-0. He added a nine-yard touchdown run in the closing seconds of the first half extending UC’s lead to 27-7. His final score capped off an 11 play, 70-yard drive with a two-yard rush as the Patriots improved to 5-2 on the year. It was James’ fourth 100-yard rushing performance and he averaged 4.9 yards per carry.
