Bristol, TN – UC women's wrestling went 1-2 in a tri-match at King University in the season opener. In the first match against Emmanuel College the Patriots fell by a score of 13-35. Next they wrestled King University  and fell by a score of 16-27. In the final match of the day UC won against Ferrum College 44 to 5.

Cumberlands began the day facing Emmanuel College. UC struggled only winning two matches, one by a tech fall and one by a forfeit, falling by a score of 13-35.

Next, UC faced King University won three matches, two by falls and one by forfeit. In the second match Gordon helped her team take a 5-3 team lead by earning a fall. However King won their next six matches earning a 27-6 led. UC would pick up a forfeit win pushing the score to 27-11. Finally Kirby would pick up a pin-fall win to make the final score 27-16, with UC on the losing end.

After starting the day 0-2 the Pats looked to turn it around against Ferrum College winning by a score of 44-5. UC would only drop one match, they had three fall wins, on tech fall decision and five forfeits.
