Box Score Bowling Green, KY – The second-seed UC women's tennis team put up a valiant effort but top-seed and fifth ranked Lindsey Wilson was too much to overcome as the Patriots fell 5-0 in the MSC Tournament championship match Sunday morning at Warren East High School. With the win the Blue Raiders improve to 12-2, while the Patriots move to 10-10.

Lindsey Wilson jumped out to quick 1-0 lead with an 8-0 win at #2 doubles.  At #3 doubles, the team of Denee Lyttle and Luka Lyttle traded points to start the match before ultimately falling 8-4.  The Blue Raiders added an 8-3 win at #1 doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

In singles play, Fiona Curty posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at #3 doubles, while Lucia Mora Diaz won 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles to clinch the match for Lindsey Wilson. 

Tomomi Nagao won the first set 6-3 over 36^th-ranked Minja Gligic.  Nagao was trailing 3-1 in the second set when play was halted.  Jaclyn Jewell played Jovana Peric, ranked 18^th in the NAIA, tough but dropped the first set 7-6 (7-5).  That match was also unfinished.

The Patriots will now await the NAIA selection show to find out if they advanced to the NAIA National Championships.  The qualifying teams will be announced on May 7 with the pairings announced on May 8.
