Nicholasville, KY – The UC women's tennis team fell in the semifinals of the NAIA ITA Southeast Regional Saturday at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
After knocking off the second-seed doubles team on Friday, the Patriots doubles team of
Jaclyn Jewell and
Luka Lyttle faced third-seed Ainhoa Garijo Garrido and Marianela Landi of Cumberland in the semifinals. The Patriots battled but ultimately fell to the Phoenix 8-3.
In singles,
Tomomi Nagao started the day by notching a 6-0, 7-6 straight set win over Lucia Mora of Lindsey Wilson to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals,
Nagao battled second-seed Isidora Petkovic of Union however Petkovic would get the best winning 6-3, 6-2.
The Patriots will return to the court Saturday, October 6, when they host the UC Invite 2 at the UC Tennis Complex.
