Georgetown, KY – The UC Cheerleading team continued their winning ways as they posted wins over Georgetown and Union in a double-dual event Friday night at the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.  The Patriots defeated Union 81.35 to 57.15 before knocking off the Tigers 80.95 to 65.95.

This was UC's second and third competition of the season and brings their season average to 80.13 per competition.  Cumberlands is competing in their first season as a NAIA declared championship sport.

Against Union, Cumberlands hit a routine that earned them the with a score of 81.35, their highest mark of the season. In addition to setting a new season-high in points, the Patriots yielded zero deductions from the judges table for the second straight competition.

UC followed that up by notching 80.95 points to defeat Georgetown.  Cumberlands landed an almost flawless routine however a 0.25 deduction dropped their score from an 81.2 to an 80.95. 

With these two performances, UC moves up two spots in the national rankings to be ranked ninth in the NAIA.

The Patriots will return to the mat Sunday, February 17, when they travel to Bowling Green, KY to take part in the Mid-South Conference Championships.  UC is looking to successfully defend their MSC title, while gearing up for the NAIA regionals the following week.
