Box Score Crestview Hills, KY – The 15
th-ranked UC women's tennis team extend its winning streak to three after defeating Thomas More 9-0 Friday afternoon. With the win the Patriots improve to 3-1 on the season.
UC struck first as
Grace Steely and
Tessa Perkins recorded an 8-1 win over Kayla Snyder and Alysaa Dowdell at #2 doubles.
Mikaela Fros partnered with
Sydney White for an 8-2 win at #3 doubles, before
Tomomi Nagao and
Jaclyn Jewell teamed up for an 8-4 win at #1 doubles to give UC a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
Cumberlands won all six singles matches in straight sets with Fros and Perkins posting 6-0, 6-0 wins at #2 and #6 singles, respectfully, to clinch the match. At #1 singles, Nagao defeated Brooke Warden 6-2, 6-3. Steely won 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles, while White notched a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dowdell at #4 singles.
Hannah Wampler improves to 1-0 on the season after a 6-2, 6-0 win at #5 for the 9-0 final.
The Patriots will return to the court Wednesday, March 6, when they host Grace College. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the UC Tennis Complex.
