Rome, GA – After dropping to the consolation brackets on day 1 of the ITA Cup the UC's women's tennis team ended the tournament in winning fashion picking up both a singles and doubles win on day 2 of the ITA Cup.

In the doubles bracket the tandem of Tomomi Nagao and Mikaela Fros faced Lena Golz and Thais Mendez of Indiana Wesleyan.  The Patriots duo found themselves behind in the first set, however, rallied to win the second set 7-5.  After a back-and-forth third set UC came up short sending the duo into another consolation bracket. 

Fros and Nagao rallied to defeat Polina Khoroshevskaya and Erica Paradise of McPherson 6-3, 6-2 to finish the ITA Cup with a 1-2 record.  The win marks a first for UC as it's Cumberlands first doubles win at an ITA Cup event.

On the singles side, Nagao faced Angela Rinaldi of San Diego Christian.  The fourth-seed Nagao defeated Rinaldi 6-2, 7-5.  The junior finished the ITA Cup with a 2-1 record for the second consecutive year.
