Williamsburg, KY –
Just hours after finding out they were ranked second in the initial NAIA Coaches' Poll, the UC women's swimming and diving team put on a showcase with 11 wins and six national standards in their double dual Friday afternoon.  Cumberlands defeated Union 161-31, while the Patriots defeated Thomas More 167-25 to improve to 3-0 on the season,

Of those six national cuts, five of them we earned in individual events, while the 400 medley relay hit the "A" standard touching the wall in 4:04.52 to open the meet.

In the 50 free, Hanne te Velthuis touched the wall in 24.41 to win the event and notch her second national standard of the season.  Runner-up finisher Houston Burgoon also notched a national cut with a time of 25.55.

Veterans swimmers Mendy De Rooi and Maria Basto continued their strong start to the season as they each earned national cuts.  De Rooi went 1:58.64 to pull away from the field and win the 200 free by 13 seconds, while Basto posted a five-second win in the 100 back (1:00.96)

The final national standard came in the one-meter dive, where Emma Lehmhul scored a 184.95 to achieve above the 180 qualifying standard.

Leah Thomas recorded a pair of wins on the day beginning with 1000 free, where she swam 11:29.91.  Thomas and Rebecca Loftus had the most exciting race as the 100 free came down to the touch of the wall where they finished tied for first as they each went 56.64.

Cameron Klimczak led a trio of Patriots in the 200 IM as she posted a time of 2:15.86 for her second win of the year.  Sara Overly (100 fly) and Sami Danielsen  (500 free) notched UC's final two individual wins of the meet posting times of 1:04.77 and 5:49.40, respectfully.
