COMPLETE RESULTS

Williamsburg, KYEric Deluse pinned Campbellsville's Zach Linton in a close battle to seal the team win on the home mat. Fifth-ranked Patriots defeated the seventh-ranked Tigers by a 25-10 margin to note their 11th dual victory this season.

Deluse, fourth in the country at 197, fended off #7 Linton for two minutes of the late-match bout. The senior turned the tide with a reversal after being taken down and working from a 4-0 disadvantage. Deluse landed Linton on his back out of the reversal, needing only a two-count to note his sixth pin of the season and extended his win-streak to 12 straight.

Earlier in the night, Bryce Nickel pulled through with a top-ten upset to keep momentum in the Patriots favor. The number-10 man at 141 took down Marvel in the third period to even the score at seven-all. It took four overtime periods to prove a winner. At the edge of the ring, Nickel added his fifth takedown of the night to knock out his ranked-opponent and move the match 9-0 in the Patriots favor.

The Tigers were coming off a hot streak going into the night, recently defeating #4 Lindsey Wilson last week and having only one dual loss this year. Deluse and company halted Campbellsville in their tracks, securing the win to remain undefeated in Mid-South action this season, 3-0.

Against ranked opponents individually, the Patriots went 7-2 in the dual. Meanwhile, the Patriots claimed four wins where their Tiger opponents were higher ranked.

Austin Franco started the night off on the right foot, claiming his first ranked win of his young Patriot career. Now undefeated 7-0 with Cumberlands, the 125-pounder shocked #14 Jordan Martinez with a grueling 8-6 decision. In the bout, Martinez noted the first takedown to advance into the second period 2-1. Not long after, Franco opened the gates with three takedowns to get the Patriots first win of the night.

Jacob Seto came from behind to knock off seventh-ranked Marvin Galette with the 10-3 verdict. The 12th man at 133 reversed out of the second-period start and noted a four-point nearfall to recover from a deficit. Seto extended his lead with his only takedown of the match in the third and rode out the final minute.

With the victory over the Tigers already secured, Aaron Johnson further separated the Patriots on the scoreboard with a ranked win over #9 Ashton Mutuwa. The 11th-ranked heavyweight was not taken down by his opponent in the match, fending off his Tiger grappler. Empty handed in the first, Johnson worked from below for the escape before a takedown, leading to the 3-1 result.

Having met Tristan Sellmer once before at the Patriot Open, number-one man Tres Leon noted the 18-8 major this time against his 19th-ranked opponent at 157. The senior got off to a hot start in the first with two takedowns and back-to-back nearfalls for the 10-2 advantage in the early going.

With the match at 13-3 on the team scoreline at the start of the 165 class, #5 Jacob McNutt and the Tiger's #16 Chandler Woenker were slow to get to work without a point offered in the first period. Working from a neutral position in the second, McNutt registered the first takedown of the match to take advantage. The sophomore rattled off three-straight takedowns without being brought to the mat himself to win the 9-4 verdict.

Campbellsville claimed decision wins at 149, 174 and 184 to keep the dual within reach, moving the margin to 16-10 by the start of the 197 bout. Deluse slammed the door on a comeback with the 2:17 pin late in the night.

The Patriots look to continue their undefeated conference run on Friday as fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson comes to town. The senior-night dual will begin at 7 PM in the UC Volleyball Gym in a battle to win the MSC North.
