Georgetown, KY – The University of the Cumberlands cheerleading team notched a pair of wins as they competed in a double-dual against Georgetown and Life Saturday afternoon.  The Patriots posted a pair of season-best scores in their third and fourth competition of the season.

"We capitalized in a new environment and were able to pull out two big wins against conference opponents," said Head Coach RJ Conroy.  "It's a great feeling heading into conference next week."

The Patriots opened the competition by scoring an 80.81 to defeat the Running Eagles.  UC followed that up with a season-best score of 83.10 in the win over Georgetown.

With the average score of 80.13, the Patriots are ranked fourth in the NAIA so far this season behind Loyola, Oklahoma City, and Central Methodist.

The Patriots will return to the mat Saturday, February 15, when they travel to Bowling Green, KY to compete at the Mid-South Conference Championships.  UC is seeking its third straight conference title.
