Box Score Lawrenceburg, GA – The 17
th-ranked UC women's tennis team played their third game in three days, falling to top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett 7-0 Monday afternoon. After the match UC moves to 4-5 on the season.
The Grizzlies posted 6-0 wins at #1 and #2 doubles to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead into singles.
In singles play,
Tomomi Nagao fought hard against Maria Genovese, however, dropped the point 6-3, 6-2 to trail 2-0. Gwinnett had the #1 and #2 singles players in the NAIA play #2 and #3 singles and both posted straight sets win.
Mikaela Fros battled Emerald Able 5-7 in the first set of the #3 singles match.
The Grizzlies won the remaining matches in straight sets for the 7-0 final.
The Patriots will return to the court on Friday, March 20, when they host Shawnee State to open MSC play. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
