Results
Williamsburg, KY – The UC men's swimming & diving team recorded 13 wins and achieved five NAIA provisional cuts as they defeated Berry College 189-82 Saturday afternoon at the Patriots Aquatic Center.  With the win, Cumberlands improves to 3-0 on the season.
The Patriots saw strong swims across the line-up  with 
Ruben Gonzalez de Oliveira and 
Kacper Sobieszuk each tallied a pair of wins on the afternoon.  Gonzalez de Oliveira notched a pair of national cuts leading off in the 200 free, where he touched the wall in 1:46.10.  The freshman followed that up by clocking a 4:47.83 in the 500 free to pull away from the field and win the event.  That time is the eighth fastest time in the NAIA this season.
Sobieszuk improved on his season-best mark in the 100 fly as he went 52.63, the 11
th fastest time in the NAIA, to win the event.  Teammate 
Martin Herion clocked a 52.63 to place runner-up, while also achieving a provisional cut. Sobiesszuk also took top honors in the 100 back with a time of 54.47.
Enzo Esteves led a quartet of Patriots swimmers in the 50 free as he touched the wall in 21.76.  That time is almost two-tenth faster than the NAIA provisional cut. 
UC continue to get strong performances out of their freestylers with 
Felipe Sanchez Bringas and Esteves posting a one-two finish in the 100 free.  The duo finished with a 48.99 and 49.03, respectfully.  
John Morgan McDonald pulled away from the field to win the 1000 free with a time of 10:04.01.
In the 100 breast, the Patriots went one, two, and three led by 
Mikolaj Kala, who touched the wall in 1:00.05.  
Nathan Souza and 
Andres Caicedo completed the sweep clocking times of 1:00.26 and 1:00.99. Souza followed that up by winning the 50 breast with a time of 26.74.
A trio of Patriots also earned individual wins on the afternoon.  
Nicolas Cecioni clocked a 25.97 to win the 50 back, while Caicedo edged out the field in the 200 IM clocking a time of 1:58.38.  
Nick Davis tallied a 140.75 in his Patriots diving debut.
Cumberlands closed out the meet with Gonzalez de Oliveira, Souza, Ruiz Ramis, and Esteves teaming up to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:27.16.
The Patriots will return to the water Thursday, November 18, as they travel to Barbourville, KY to take part in the Union Bulldogs Invite.
