Vancouver, WA – The 2021 NAIA Cross Country National Championship took place Friday morning in Vancouver, Washington. Sophomore Kyle Woodward qualified for this race after placing tenth in the Mid-South Conference Championships two weeks ago. This marked Woodward's first national's appearance of his career.  
 
The Rockfield, KY native finished in 129^th place out of the 330 runners in the race. He crossed the finish line with a time of 26:59.8 to mark his fourth straight race under 27 minutes. The sophomore got out to a good start as he was in the top 90 runners through the first four kilometers and was in 80^th after 6k.
 
Four teams from the Mid-South had individual runners qualify for this race while Shawnee State and Campbellsville qualified their full team. Woodward placed sixth out of the conference runners in Vancouver, beating four runners he finished behind at the conference tournament.
 
Milligan came away with the banner after placing first with a team score of 115. St. Mary (Kan) and Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top three with scores of 175 and 186 respectively. Shawnee State was the first MSC team to finish, placing 19^th while Campbellsville finished 28^th.
