Patriots Remain In The Top-10 To End 2021

NAIA Coaches Poll – No. 3

Kansas City, MO – In the final poll of the 2021 calendar year, UC moved into 8th in the NAIA regular season poll. Cumberlands will have eight individuals ranked in the top-20, with Aaron Johnson, Austin Franco, and Bryce Nickel being in the top six of their respective weight classes, as announced Thursday night by the national office.

Johnson dropped to the fifth spot at 285, he currently holds a 7-1 overall record. Franco moved into the sixth-place spot at 125, with an overall record of 11-2. Nickel rounds out the individuals ranked inside the top-10 for UC, as he remains in the sixth spot in the 141-weight class. He holds a 14-3 record so far.

Gabe Jacobs stayed in the 11th place in 197, as he holds a 14-5 overall record. Next, is Jarod Swank who in a two-way tie for the 15th spot at 174, he holds an overall record of 11-4. Jacob McNutt remained in the 13th  spot in 165. McNutt is still 4-1 on the season. While Gage Hudson is in a three way tie for the 17th place at 133, with a 7-3 record. Lastly, Chasen Brown dropped to the 19th spot at 149, and holds a 14-5 overall record.

In the team poll portion, the Mid-South Conference has seven teams ranked in the top-20. Life is leading the way at number two. Then there is, Lindsey Wilson, Southeastern, Cumberlands, and Cumberland in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth spots. With Campbellsville in the 15th spot, and Thomas More in the 17th spot.

The Patriots ends the 2021 portion of their season with a 5-3 record. They will start the 2022 portion on January 6th and 7th competing at the NWCA/NAIA National Duals.
