Box Score Hendersonville, TN – The 24^th-ranked UC women's tennis team capped off their day with their second consecutive sweep this time defeating Freed-Hardeman 7-0 Saturday night.  With the win, the Patriots improve to 9-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in MSC play, while the Lions move to 0-3 on the season.

This match was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, however, inclement weather forced the match to be moved to Friday night.

The Patriots got on the board first sweeping all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.  The #3 doubles team of Johanna Beckmann and Satsuki Mitani didn't surrender a point on the day as they notched their second straight 6-0 win. The pair improves to 5-1 on the season after the win.  Cumberlands top doubles team, Mikaela Fros and Tomomi Nagao followed with a 6-4 win at #1 doubles, while Laura Marie and Tessa Gray notched a 7-5 win at #2 doubles.

Just like the match earlier in the day, Beckmann and Mitani blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at #5 and #6 singles to extend the Patriots lead to 3-0.  With the point, Beckmann improves to 8-2 on the season. Hana Shimeno clinched the match for Cumberlands with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #4 singles, giving UC a 4-0 lead.

The Patriots top three singles players all won in straight sets.  Nagao posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Skyler Sullivan at #1 singles, while Fros extends her win streak to six straight after a 6-1, 6-2 win at #2 singles.  At #3 singles, Marie recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win over Juliana Alvez to clinch the 7-0 final. 

The Patriots will return to the court Monday, March 15 when they travel to Lawrenceville, GA to face top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett.  First serve is set for 1 p.m.
