Coaches Poll

Bowling Green, KY – UC men's cross country is projected fifth in this year's Mid-South Conference preseason poll, conference officials announced Thursday afternoon.

Cumberlands, coming off a seventh place finish at the 2020 MSC championship, are looking to bounce back this year after returning the entire roster from last season. Kyle Woodward looks to lead the experienced group this season and improve his career best 8k time of 27.09.

Shawnee State finds themselves at the top of the polls after winning the MSC title last year. They received 121 points and 11 out of 12 first place votes. Campbellsville received the final first place vote, and 108 voting points, putting them in second. Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland University are ranked third and fourth with 96 and 91 points, respectively.

The Patriots round out the top five with 74 points. UC has been ranked top five in the preseason poll every year since at least 2009.

UC looks to start the season strong in two weeks when they travel up I-75 to Berea for the Berea-Centre Cross Country Jamboree. They are no stranger to this meet, placing second in their last appearance there.
