NAIA Coaches Poll – No. 4
Kansas City, MO – With the first poll of the 2022 calendar year, the Patriots are now in the 12
th spot in the 4
th NAIA regular season poll. Cumberlands has have seven individuals ranked in the top-20, while
Aaron Johnson,
Austin Franco, and
Bryce Nickel being in the top six of their respective weight classes, as announced Thursday afternoon by the national office.
Johnson remains in the fifth spot at 285, he currently holds a 7-1 overall record. Franco moved into the fifth spot at 125, with an overall record of 11-2. While Nickel rounds out the individuals ranked inside the top-10 for UC, as he stays in the spot at 141-weight class, with a 14-3 record.
Gabe Jacobs dropped to the 12
th spot at 197, with an overall record of 14-5. Next, is
Jarod Swank dropped to the 18
th spot at 174, he holds an overall record of 11-4.
Jacob McNutt fell to the 15
th spot in 165, with a 4-1 record. Lastly,
Gage Hudson dropped to 19
th in the 133 weight-class with a 7-3 overall record
In the team poll portion, the Mid-South Conference still has seven teams ranked in the top-20. Life still leads the way at number two. Then there is, Lindsey Wilson, Southeastern, Cumberland, and Cumberlands in the sixth, seventh, 11
th, and 12
th spots. With Thomas More in the 16
th spot, and Campbellsville in the 19
th spot.
The Patriots starts 2022 competing at the Missouri Valley Invitational this weekend on the 21
st and 22
nd.
