Rome, GA - After a stellar showing at the Fall ITA Regionals two weeks ago, Meiri Okuwaki was the solo representative of the Patriots in the ITA Cup on Thursday. This marks the first ITA Cup appearance in her career.
 
Okuwaki started the day of by facing Candela Bonivardi from LSU- Alexandria in the opening round. The sophomore found herself on the right track by winning the first set 6-3. Bonivardi rallied in the second set and recorded a 6-3 win to force a decisive third set, which she won 6-4, dropping Okuwaki to the consolation bracket.
 
Okuwaki will compete against Menlo College's Valentina Urelli on Friday morning to continue through the tournament.
