Boone, NC- Patriots men's swimming & diving takes their first win of the season after taking down Lees-McRae 156.50 - 137.50. The Pats met 12 provisional cuts in nine events, led by Andres Caicedo and Jokubas Jankauskas who had three cuts apiece.

Caicedo started his day off with a first-place finish in the 100 free as he touched the wall in 48.18. That was his first provisional cut of the day. Also, Leon Irmer finished third in that event. Caicedo followed that swim up with a second-place finish in the 200 free for his second provisional cut. He touched the wall at 1:46.52 seconds, Eli Henry finished in fourth at 1:52.43.

In the 50 free, Ruithiik Satti finished in second, while Thomas Holzkamm finished third. Will Gilbert then finished first in both the 500 free and the 1000 free.  

Jankauskas placed first in the 100 back and the 200 back. In the 100 back, Jankauskas touched the wall in 52.87 seconds, followed by Filip Rybinski who placed second at 53.38. Both hit provisional cuts. In the 200 back, Jankauskas finished with a time of 1:54.55, for another provisional cut. Creed Farthing finished in third, while Rybinski finished in fourth.

The 100 breast saw provisional cuts from Irmer who finished first with a time off 58.80, and Mikolaj Kala who touched the wall next at 59.15. Also, in that event Nathan Souza finished fourth. Then in the 200 breast, Kala hit his second provisional cut after he finished first with a time of 2:12.10. His was followed by Souza at 2:18.96 for second place.

From there the Patriots finished in second place in the next five events. Starting with Satti in the 100 fly at 52.35, for a provisional cut. Mykhailo Ivaniuk and Martin Seve finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

In the 200 fly, Gabriel Eriksson hit a provisional cut as he finished second with a time of 1:59.81. Try Wolfram came in next with a 2:02.23 time. Next in the 200 IM, Jankauskas and Caicedo hit their third provisional cut of the day. Jankauskas touched the wall in 1:58.60 for second place, while Caircedo touched the wall next in 1:58.74. Marcos Del Vado Sanz rounded out the top five with a time of 2:01.87.

Then in the 400 medley, Jankauskas, Kala, Satti, and Caicedo finished in second with a time of 3:31.40, then to end the day Satti, Holzkamm, Ivaniuk, and Irmer finished in second place with a time of 3:16.60.

The divers will head to Sewanee, TN for the Sewanee Invitational on October 28^th. The next day the Pats will host a Tri-Meet against Union and Midway, starting at Noon.
