Indianapolis, IN - The UC men's bowling team is back to work this weekend at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout with it's fifth top-15 finish of the season. The tournament consisted of  six team games, featuring 30 schools, including five other Mid-South Conference teams.
 
The Patriots started off slow this morning, as they knocked down 1,783 pins through the first two games, putting them in 15th place. The Pats came back in the next two games by hitting 1,917 to boost into the top-ten. UC hit 1,877 pins in the final two games to finish the day in 11th place. Cumberlands will be leaving the day as the highest sitting Mid-South Conference team being 71 pins ahead of Thomas More.
 
After averaging 929.16 pins over the six games on the day, the Patriots are still in the hunt for the title, only two pins behind tenth place heading into day two. The bowlers representing the Pats today are Bryce Frantz, Robert Borowski, Stephen Simmons, Liam McNamara, Charles Wilken, and Austin Hale.
 
McNamara is leading the way for the Patriots with 1,222 pins knocked in six games, an average of 203.67 pins per game. The junior is sitting at 16th place, just 10 pins behind 15th, and in his highest finish of the season.
 
Borowski rounds out the top-35 for UC after knocking down 1,161 pins, and averaging 193.5 pins per game. The senior started the day with his best score achieving a 235 in game three and surpassed the 175 pin plateau in each of the six games. .
 
Cumberlands will be back to play Sunday morning for the final day of the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, looking for their first win of the season.
