Patriots Women's Bowling Earns Fourth Straight Top-Five Finish

The Patriots posted their highest score of the season to finish fourth at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout on Sunday. After knocking down 5,331 pins in six games on Saturday, UC hit 2,918 pins over 16 baker games on Sunday to finish with a total of 8,249 pins. The scoring was based upon the score of the six team games from Saturday plus the total score from the 16 baker games on Sunday.
 
Cumberlands was led by Allysen Coryell, Kiara Abanto, Erika Taylor, Paige Frantz, Haleigh Lawwell, and Kaylie Sipes and averaged 182 pins per game, with at least 170 pins in 12 of the 16 baker games on the day. UC notched a team-high 258 pins in the 12th baker game to help keep UC in the top-five.
 
Pikeville took home the trophy this week with a total pin-fall of 8,859 over the weekend. Trine finished in second after totaling 8,346 pins in the 22 games. Davenport placed third, while Calumet College of St. Joseph rounded out the top-five with 8,214 pins over the weekend. Pikeville and Cumberlands are the only two MSC teams to finish in the top-five.
 
UC women's bowling will be back north next weekend, October 22, for the annual MSC Cincinnati Classic, which is a two-day tournament.
