Bowling Green, KY – Valentina Zapata Ceballos takes home MSC Swimmer of the Week honors after hitting three NAIA provisional cuts. UC starts the season strong as they notched their first two wins of the season.

The freshman from Medellin, Colombia starts her career in a big way. Ceballos started her day with a first-place finish in the 100 back. She touched the wall in 59.32 seconds, which is currently the third fastest time in the NAIA. Ceballos turned around and hit her second provisional cut in the 100 fly. She finished first with a time of 58.38. She finished the individual races with a first-place finish in the 200 IM. She touched the wall in 2:11.98 for her third provisional cut of the day. Then in the 400 medley, she was part of the team that finished in first-place.

The Patriots will return to the pool next week as the divers will head to Sewanee, TN for the Sewanee Invitational on October 28th. The next day the Pats will host a Tri-Meet against Union and Midway, starting at Noon.
