Cincinnati, OH - Cumberlands men's bowling is back competing this weekend at the MSC Cincinnati Classic, and is searching for their fifth top-ten finish of the season.  The Patriots knocked down 4,711 pins over five team games to be in 11th place after the opening day Saturday afternoon.  

The Patriots started off slow this morning, knocking down 1,812 pins within the first two games, putting them in 13th place. UC hit 1,826 over the next two games, keeping them low on the scoreboard with a total of 3,638. The Pats fought hard in the last game hitting a total of 1,073 pins to climb up three spots on the leaderboard.  

After averaging 942.2 pins over five games on the day, Cumberlands is still in the hunt for the title, only 24 pins behind tenth place heading into day two.  In the lane for the Patriots today were Bryce Frantz, Robert Borowski, Stephen Simmons, Liam McNamara, Charles Wilken, and Austin Hale. Accompanying them this weekend was the junior varsity team comprised of Samuel Belew, Thomas Bemiss, Brandon Salazar, and Donovan Steiner.  Steiner had a stellar start to the tournament as he averaged 208.3 pins per game over his first three games putting him 15^th in the individual standings.  

This is a two-day tournament consisting of team games, featuring 17 teams, including nine other Mid-South Conference teams. Pikeville leads the team standings with 5,313 pins followed by UT Southern with 5,188 pins. 

Cumberlands will be back to play Sunday morning for the final day of the MSC Cincinnati Classic, looking for their first win of the season.  The day will consist of the final four team games.
