Williamsburg, KY- The Cumberlands women's swimming and diving team picked up two wins in their home opener to move to 4-0 overall. The Patriots took down Union 168.00 - 6.00 and Midway 163.00 – 31.00, while seven Patriots notched NAIA provisional cuts.

The Patriots had a first-place finish in every event on their way to a win. Starting with the 50 free, Anastasiia Shatalova finished first hitting a provisional cut at 25.22. Holly Gabriel touched the wall next with a time of 26.16, followed by Austyn Crawford rounding out the podium places. In the 100 free, Maria Basto and Olie Dabney both hit provisional cuts while finishing first and third. Basto touched the wall in 53.88 and Dabney clocked a time of 55.76.

The 200 free had Hanne te Velthuis and Romy Itzkovich Sacco finishing first and second while hitting provisional cuts. Te Velthuis finished with a fifth-best time in the NAIA this season at 1:56.37. Izzy Cooksey placed third with a time of 2:03.74. Elise Weiler finished first in the 500 free (5:43.51) and Aldara Gonzalez Riano had a first-place finish in the 1000 free (11:17.47).

In the 100 back, Valentina Zapata Ceballos hit another provisional cut as she touched the wall in first with a time of 59.10, which is good enough for third in the NAIA. Abbey Richardson and Liberty Poley rounded out the podium places as they finished second and third. Kayana Cook hit the final provisional cut of the day for the Pats in the 100 breast. Cook finished first with a time of 1:08.50, while Ashley Schoenlein finished second as she touched the wall at 1:11.80

Filippa Malmstrom and Aurora Stavoy finished first and second in the 100 fly, while Romy Itzkovich Sacco and Abbey Richardson finished first in the 100 IM. Basto, Cook, Zapata Ceballos, te Velthuis took home first in the 200-medley relay. Then Basto, Shatalova, Stavoy, te Velthuis finished the day with a first-place finish in the 200 free relay.

Cumberlands hit the road as they head to Terre Hauts, IN, for a Quad-Meet on November 5^th starting at 1 PM.
