Jackson, MI – The Patriots men's bowling team notched its highest finish of the 2022-23 season as they achieved 7,309 pins to finish runner-up at the Crossroads League 2 Saturday afternoon.  Cumberlands had two of the top five individual bowlers in the tournament as Charles Wilken and Robert Borowski garnered all-tournament honors.

Wilken earned all-tournament honors for the second straight day after finishing with a 926. The Fortmill, SC native averaged 231.5 over the four games, including a 275 in game four and a 268 in game two, to place third overall.  That is tied for Wilken's highest individual finish at the tournament as he placed third at the MSC Pre-Season Fall Invite in 2020. 

Finishing one spot back was Robert Borowski, who finished with a 907, averaging 226.75 per game.  Borowski started the day with his best score achieving a 276 in game one and surpassed the 200 pin plateau in each of the four games to earn all-tournament honors.

Austin Hale knocked down 770 pins to place 22^nd overall.  Hale's best game came in the second game when he bowled a 221.  Bryce Frantz followed with a 712 to place 37^th overall.  Stephen Simmons averaged a 174 over the three games he bowled to finish with 522 pins, while Liam McNamara hit 237 pins in his lone game to round out UC's scoring.

The Patriots were in second place after the team rounds with 4074 pins, 153 pins behind Marian.  Cumberlands totaled 3,235 pins over the 16 baker-style games, averaging 202.19, to finish as the tournament runner-up.

Marian finished with 7,528 to capture the team title.

UC will return to the lanes Saturday, October 22, when they travel to Cincinnati, OH to take part in the MSC Cincinnati Classic.  This is the second MSC event of the season.
