Smyrna, TN - The UC men's bowling team utilized a strong performance during baker games to climb three spots and finish fourth at the MSC Brandon Burns Memorial Tournament Sunday afternoon. It was the Patriots fourth top-five finish of the season after completing the two-day tournament.   
 
After hitting 6,057 pins on Saturday, UC finished with a total of 9,485 pins for the tournament as they surged up the leaderboard. Bryce Frantz, Robert Borowski, Stephen Simmons, Charles Wilken, and Austin Hale were the ones to lead the team in their success this weekend.
 
The Patriots came out strong, as they hit 771 pins over the four baker games to hold strong in seventh place. Over the next four games, UC got it rolling as they hit 858 pins to upsurge two spots to sit in fifth place for the first time in the tournament. The Pats rallied and averaged 224.87 pins over the final eight games of the day to claim their spot at fourth place for the second time this year.
 
University of Pikeville pulled out the first-place victory with a total pin count of 10,268. Tennessee Wesleyan took second place with knocking down 9,609 pins, while UT Southern found themselves just 80 pins in front of the Patriots with 9,565 pins knocked down on the weekend for third place. This performance helps UC move into a tie for third place in the conference through the season.
 
This event was the final event of the 2022 calander year, however, UC will return to the lanes on the weekend of January 14^th when they travel north to Addison, IL for the ISBPAA Midwest Collegiate Classic.
