Wooster, OH – The Patriots men's swimming and diving team notched two "A" standards and a school record on day two of the College of Wooster Invite. Ruben Gonzalez de Oliveira and Jokubas Jankauskas both achieved an "A" standard in their respective events for the Patriots.

Final

Cumberlands opened the night strong achieving their fourth school record of the meet.  The quarter of Jankauskas, Leon Irmer, Ruithiik Satti, and Gonzalez teamed up to set a new program record in the 200 medley as they clocked a winning time of 1:31.24.  The time clipped the previous school record of 1:31.78 set back in 2017.

In the 100 back, Jankauskas notched a first-place finish with a time of 49.43. That time is an "A" standard as the freshman already holds the fastest time in the NAIA. Also earning podium finishes wer Ruithiik Satti setting the seventh fastest time in the NAIA with a time of 50.64 seconds and Filip Rybinski, who touched the wall in 51.22 to finish third. Creed Farthing (52.48) came in fifth, while Eli Henry (53.98) finished in 11^th.

UC also picked up a win in the 200 free, behind Gonzalez de Oliveira's first place "A" standard with a time of 1:39.67. That time puts Gonzalez de Oliveira in a tie for the second fastest time this season. Andres Caicedo touched the wall in 1:43.10 to earn a runner-up finish. Daniel Ruiz Ramis (1:45.34) came in 10^th, while Will Gilbert (1:45.98) finished in 12^th, and Lucca Zhigalin (1:50.17) came in 20^th.

The Patriots also swept the podium in the 100 fly with all three times being ranked in the top eight of the NAIA.  Thomas Holzkamm led the way posting a winning time of 49.68, which is the fourth fastest time in the NAIA.  Leon Irmer was a close second with a time of 49.89, while Kacper Sobieszuk rounded out the podium finishes clocking a time of 49.95. Gabriel Eriksson (51.43) finished eighth, while Trey Wolfram (51.92) came in 11^th, followed by Mykhailo Ivaniuk (52.06) in 12^th. Martin Seve came in 18^th with a time of 52.97 seconds.
 
Cumberlands garnered a one-two finish in the 100 breast as Irmer notched his first win with a time of 55.63 seconds.  Mikolaj Kala touched the wall in 56.89 for second place finish as Nathan Souza (57.75)  and Henry Wall (1:01.06) placed fourth and 11^th, respectively.

The 400 IM saw Peyton Berter take home second place with a time of 4:05.80. Evan Hawkins finished right behind him in third with a time of 4:07.95. In the "B" finals Marcos Del Vado Sanz touched the wall first for ninth place with a time of 4:13.59, followed by Jakub Zeremba in 10^th with a time of 4:14.60.

In the final event of the session, the 800 free relay, Gonzalez, Caicedo, Sobieszuk, and Ruiz Ramis finished first in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:51.15. Brian Bedford came in fifth place on the three meter board with a score of 279.05.

Preliminary

Starting with the 200 free, Ruben Gonzalez de Oliveira earned a spot in the "A" final as he came across to touch the wall in 1:39.44 for UC's first "A" Standard of the day. That time was also good enough for first in the NAIA.  Andres Caicedo will also be featured in the "A" after touching the wall in 1:43.60 for a provisional cut. For the "B" final, Will Gilbert will be featured after hitting a provisional cut with a time of 1:45.54. Daniel Ruiz Ramis will also be in the "B" final with a time of 1:50.52, while Lucca Zhigalin earned a spot in the "C" final as he touched the wall in 1:51.46.

For the 400 IM, all four Patriots hit provisional cuts. The "A" final will have Peyton Berter (4:10.21) and Evan Hawkins (4:11.76), while the "B" final will feature Jakub Zaremba (4:16.37) and Marcos Del Vado Sanz (4:17.67).

The 100 fly prelims had four Pats earn a spot in the "A" final, two in the "B" final, and one in the "C" final. The "A" final will feature Kacper Sobieszuk who finished in 50.18 seconds, and Leon Irmer as he touched the wall in 50.65 seconds. Thomas Holzhamm (51.12) and Gabriel Eriksson (51.34) also made the "A" finals. In the "B" finals, Mykhailo Ivaniuk earned a spot after touching the wall in 51.70 seconds and Trey Wolfram in 52.08 seconds.  Then Martin Seve will be featured in the "C" final after touching the wall in 53:40 seconds.

For the 100 breast, Leon Irmer (56.54), Mikolaj Kala (57.73), and Nathan Souza (58.52) all hit provisional cuts and will be featured in the "A" final. Then the "B" final will have Henry Wall as he finished in 1:01.73.

After hitting UC's first "A" in the 100 back yesterday, Jokubas Jankauskas hit a time of 50.36 in the prelims to earn a spot in the "A" final. Also, in the "A" will be Ruithiik Satti (50.89), Filip Rybinski (51.74), and Creed Farthing (52.49). All four of them hit provisional cuts. Then for the "B" final, Eli Henry earned a spot with a time of 54.84.

Cumberlands will hit the pool tomorrow morning for the final day of the College of Wooster Invite. The prelims with start at 10 am followed by diving at 2 pm, and the finals at 5 pm.
