Bowling Green, KY - For the second week in a row, Johanna Beckmann was named the MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, announced conference officials Monday. Beckmann comes off a solid weekend of play in the Grizzly Open as she ended the week with an undefeated record. 

Beckmann began her weekend in Lawrenceville, GA with a pair of wins over #11 Xavier University of Louisiana. The first was at #3 doubles alongside Satsuki Mitani as the Patriots tandem having to battle to a 7-5 win over Xavier's Valentina Largasha and Ariana Stephens, securing the 1-0 lead. Beckmann followed that up at #4 singles coming away with a three set win. She fell in the first to Bailey Whitley, but stormed back to win the second and third stanzas 6-2, 6-0 to grab the win and give UC a 3-0 lead. 

Beckmann finished out her weekend on a high note with two more wins on Sunday against #17 Reinhardt. She once again played at the #3 spot in doubles play next to Satuski Mitani and took care of the Eagle's Nicolle Romero and Elise Standing by a final cunt of 6-3. Johanna then matched up with Standing again at #4 singles and made easy work of her opponent, winning 6-4, 6-4 to end her weekend. 

Beckmann has been on a torrid pace this season, coming into the new week with a 12-3 record overall. Johanna has gotten pretty used to winning of late as she is currently riding a six-match winning streak in doubles play while avoiding a loss in singles in a month. While she has not beaten anyone who is individually tanked, she has played a big part in helping Cumberlands defeat three ranked teams in then-#12 William Woods and now both #11 Xavier and #17 Reinhardt. 

Beckmann and company will compete within their friendly confines for their next match as they are set to host Midland University. UC will put their six-game win streak on the line when they take on the Warriors on March 5th at 1:00 p.m.
