Winston Salem, NC – The men's indoor team competed in their third meet in three weeks as they attended the Camel City Invitational in North Carolina on Friday. This two-day meet featured some of the best competition the Patriots have seen all year with multiple NCAA DI and top NAIA teams in attendance.

Demarquez Brown posted a top-ten finish in the 400m dash after crossing the finish line in 53.43 for ninth place.
Jeremy Slaughter and
Ke'Shawn Stafford also raced in the 400 posting times of 53.96 and 55.51 for 12
th and 18
th respectively.

The Patriots also had multiple runners race in the 60m dash prelims where
Elyon Bando took home 11
th place with a time of 7.02. This was Bando's fastest time of the year.
Ken Cobb paced a time of 7.13 for 16
th while
Matthew Chavers finished 26
th after running a 7.17.
Ryan Long was the final Patriot in this event, running a 7.36.

Matthew Chavers also competed in the long jump competition on Friday where reached a distance of 6.67m. This was good for a ninth-place finish on the day.

Cumberlands had four runners in the 60m hurdles.
Leonardo Daley led the way in this event with a 12
th place finish in the prelims. He finished with a time of 8.54.
Andy Tchyombo and
Brandon Green were the next UC finishers in the hurdles with times of 8.92 and 9.01. This was Tchyombo's fastest finish of the season.
Alex Miller rounded out the Patriot finishers with a 9.38 respectively.

Lucas Lambo and
James Crawford were the lone Patriot throwers on Friday as they competed in the weight throw. Lambo placed 17
th after throwing the weight 12.88m. Crawford finished two spots behind his teammate for 19
th with a throw of 11.40m

The Patriots distance medley relay team finished fourth overall after putting up a time of 10:58.43.
Kevin Mengich and
Justin Fabela handled the first two legs of the competition before DeShawn Crowe took over, completing the third stage. Crowe passed the reigns to
Kyle Woodward to finish the race for their fourth-place finish.

Cumberlands look to finish strong on the final day of the Camel City Invite. Day two will begin on Saturday at 9:30 AM with the men's and women's shot put events.
