Ypsilanti, MI – After a strong opening round performance, the Cumberlands cheer team was looking to build on a strong opening performance to close out the championships. The Patriots finished the championships with a 76.80 to place 14
th overall Saturday afternoon.
UC was the fifth team to hit the floor and scored a 75.72 in the final round. That score was worth 75% of their overall team score.
Xavier captured the NAIA national title with a national record score of 93.70. Indiana Wesleyan was the runner-up at 92.58, while Saint Ambrose, Dickinson State, and Concordia rounded out the top-five.
This was the Patriots third appearance at the NAIA National Championships.
