Richmond, KY -  The Patriots women's bowling is off to a strong start in their season opener as they are leading the pack after day one of the Mid-South Conference Baker Bash. 

Cumberlands started the day off trailing, but tallied a total of 3779 pins in 20 baker-style games with an average of 188.95 pins per game to climbed atop the leaderboard. Allysen Coryell, Kiara Abanto, Erika Taylor, Paige Frantz, Haleigh Lawwell, and Kaylie Sipes were the bowlers that represented the Patriots today.  Over the course of the baker games, UC surpassed Bethel University for the top spot in their group in the eighth round.  

Overall, the Patriots hold a ten pin lead over Tennessee Southern, who bowled an 3769, and a 45 point lead over third-place Bethel.  

UC returns to the lane tomorrow where they will look to finish the tournament strong.  UC will bowl 20 more baker games beginning at 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
