Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's swimming and diving team won over Asbury 205-59. UC also celebrated their seven seniors today,
Daniel Ruiz Ramis,
Evan Hawkins,
Gus Bourff, Jermey
Nick Davis,
Mikolaj Kala,
Nathan Souza, and Charles Trey Wolfram. UC had four swimmers take home two wins.
Ruben Gonzalez de Oliveira first win came in the 50 free with a time of 21.58. Souza followed him in second with a time of 22.23, and
Will Gilbert in third. His next win came in the 100 fly, where he hit another provision cut with a time of 51.95.
Thomas Holzkamm touched the wall next with a time of 53.32, and Souza completed the podium at 55.15.
In the 200 free,
Gabriel Eriksson picked up his first win with a time of 1:46.89.
Peyton Berter was next with a time of 1:51.27, and Kala finished in third. Eriksson's next win came in the 400 IM. In that event, he swam a time of 4:17.66, followed by Hawkins and Gilbert, who finished in second and third, respectively.
Jokubas Jankauskas finished first in the 100 free and the 100 breast. First, in the 100 free, Jankauskas touched the wall in 48.25 for a provisional cut. Ruithiik Satti came in second with a time of 48.64. Then in the 100 breast, Jankauskas pulled away to hit the wall first at 1:00.53. Ruiz Ramis finished third with a time of 1:03.60.
Filip Rybinski also finished first in two events. His first win came in the 100 back, where he touched the wall in 52.58 seconds.
Creed Farthing was next with a time of 55.50, and Eli Henry was third with a time of 56.35 seconds. Then in the 200 back, Rybinski got his second win at 2:00.22. Berter also had a third-place finish in that event with a time of 2:04.98.
Then in the 500 free, Kala picked up a win with a time of 4:59.84.
Andres Caicedo followed with a second-place finish in 5:01.21. In the 1000 free, Hawkins came away with the win as he finished in 10:20.87. Kuba Zaremba came in third with a time of 10:44.55.
Leon Irmer notched a win in the 200 breast, as he touched the wall in 2:12.19. Eriksson and Farthing followed to complete the Pats podium lockout. Then in the 200 fly, Wolfram picked up a win. He hit the wall in 1:58.37, while Irmer finished in third with a time of 2:01.02.
The relays saw the team of Ruiz Ramis, Wolfram, Hawkins, and Souza come in third in the 400 medley. Then in the 400 free relay, the group of Oliveira, Jankauskas, Berter, and Ruiz Ramis pick up a first-place finish. On the one-meter diving board, Davis took first place with a score of 133.55.
Cumberlands move to 8-0 on the season. They return to the pool on January 21
st to take on Milligan at Milligan.
