Williamsburg, KY – Valentina Zapata Ceballos broke the 100 IM to lead the way for the Patriots as Cumberlands women's swimming defeated Shawnee State 168-59 Saturday afternoon at the UC Aquatic Center.  With the win, the Patriots improve to 5-0 on the season.

Zapata Ceballos along with Romina Itzkovich Sacco posted a pair of individual wins on the day, while four other Pats earned individual victories.  On the day, UC had five swims that clipped NAIA provisional cuts.

Zapata Ceballos touched the wall in 59.89 to win the 100 IM breaking the previous school record of 1:00.18, which was set last season. That time is also the fastest time in the NAIA by almost two seconds. The sophomore also took top honors in the 100 free clocking a 53.78 to earn her second win and clip the provisional cut.

Itzkovich Sacco continued her strong season by clocking a winning time of 59.17 in the 100 back.  Teammate Anastasiia Shatalova finished runner-up with a provisional cut time of 1:01.80.  Itzkovich Sacco also won the 500 free, touching the wall in 5:28.69.

Alecja Sedlak pulled away from the field to win the 200 free with a season-best time of 2:02.32.  Isabella Cooksey earned UC's final provisional as she went 1:10.81 in the 100 breast.

The Patriots placed first in both of the fly events as Judit Garreta Yuste won the 100 fly (1:04.24), while Michelle Weiss clock a 2:26.34 to win the 200 fly.  Bella Cantone notched the final individual win as she pulled away from the field in the 200 breast (2:42.82).

Sage Winterbottom earn first place on the one-meter board.

Cumberlands opened the meet with Madeline Barbee, Kathryn Harrison, Filippa Malmstrom and Zapata Ceballos teaming up to win the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:53.27. 

The Patriots now turn their attention to their mid-season meet when they travel north to the College of Wooster Invite November 30- December 2^nd.
