Cumberlands Earned Back-To-Back MSC Futures Championship

Bowling Green, KY – Cumberlands took home back-to-back MSC Futures Championships in dominate fashion. The Patriots had champions in six out of the seven weight classes they competed in.

Starting with the 133 bracket, Trenton Pagaduan took the title. In his opening match, he notched a fall victory in 65 seconds. Pagaduan followed with a 5-3 decision to advance to the first place match. In the championship match, he got a 2:18 fall for the title. Also in 133, Nathan Honhart finished second.

In 141, Eli Peyton got two major decision win to take home the title. After getting a bye in the first round, he got the 18-4 major to get into the championship match. Then in the championship match he got the 16-6 major decision win for the title. Pasqual Velasquez came in second.

At 149, Weston Melvin took home the title. Melvin started the day with a 18-0 tech fall win. He followed that with a 3-2 decision to get into the first place match. In that match, regulation time would  not be enough as he got the top bottom 2-1 victory. Marc Le Gaspe took home second place.

Seth Lambers took the 157 title, after getting a tech fall win in his opening match. Then in the first place match he got the 8-4 decision win for the title. Michael Bone earned second place.

The 165 bracket, had Harrison Brooks coming out on top. He got an 11-2 major decision to start his day. He followed that with a fall in 2:53 to take the title. Victor Zamora finished in second place.

In 174, Dylan Preston took the title. Preston started the day with a 63 second fall, followed by a 6-1 decision to get to the championship match. In the first place match, Preston got the title with a 2:33 fall.

In the 197 bracket, Jovon Howe notched back-to-back first period falls to take the title. His first fall came in only 63 seconds, followed by a fall in 2:30 for the title.

The Patriots earned 108 points which is over 70 points higher then Campbellsville who finished in second with 32.5 points.
