Bowling Green, KY – The ninth-ranked Patriots women's tennis tallies their fifth consecutive sweep as they knocked off fifth-seed UT Southern 4-0 in the semifinals of the MSC Tournament Saturday afternoon.  With the win, UC improves to 20-1 on the season and advance to the MSC finals for the third consecutive season.

UC's top doubles team of Meiri Okuwaki and Mikaela Fros set the tone for the match as they defeated Abbey Rumble and Margaret Lucas 6-1 to give the Patriots the doubles advantage.  Catherine Rae and Laura Prieto improve to 10-0 in doubles on the season as they notched a 6-4 win at #3 doubles to secure the 1-0 lead for the Patriots.

Okuwaki, the reigning MSC Player of the Year, quickly extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Victoria Sanches at #1 singles.  It's the sixth time this season that sophomore won in straight sets without surrendering a point.

Fan Shiau made it 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #4 singles over Yen-Ju Chang.  Laura Prieto clinched the win for UC at #2 singles.  The sophomore defeated Otone Odajima 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the match for the second straight day and improve to 15-2 on the season.

Marina Nagai (#3 singles) and Mikaela Fros (#5 singles) both won the first set of their respective matches when play was halted.

It marks the fourth time in last five years that Cumberlands will compete in the MSC Championship match.

UC will face second-seed Lindsey Wilson, who defeated 3^rd-seed Campbellsville 4-3, in the championship match.  First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET.
