Smyrna, TN – The UC women's bowling team had a solid showing in their first taste of conference play this season. The Pats earned a sixth place finish out of 15 teams in the MSC Greater Nashville Open on Saturday. Cumberlands tallied 4755 pins through four team games and eight baker games.
Kailee Blain and Paige Frantz led the way for the Patriots as they placed 21st and 22nd overall. Blain knocked down 715 pins through four games for a 178.8-pin average. Her best score came in game four with 195 pins. Frantz totaled 710 pins for a 177.5-pin average with her best score coming in game three with 207 pins.
Freshman Kaci Sapp placed 25th, knocking down 700 pins through four games for a 175-pin average. Sapp's best score came in game four with 198 pins.
Skyler Holt finished 53rd with 630 pins for a 157.5-pin average. The sophomore's earned her best score in game one with 172 pins. Rylee Carter put together a 95th place finish in just her second collegiate match, knocking down 307 pins through two games for a 153.5-pin average.
Pikeville placed first with 5460 pins, while Cumberland University came in second with 5081 pins.
The Pats continue action in Smyrna tomorrow for day two of the MSC Greater Nashville Open.
