Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's swimming & diving broke two school relay records and posted ten wins on the day as Cumberlands beat Asbury 166-65 Saturday afternoon at the Patriots Aquatic Center.  In addition to the two school records, UC had nine swimmers clip the NAIA provisional cut.

Cumberlands opened the meet with Mateus Cruz, Leon Irmer, Arvid Kvorning, and Agustin Rasche teaming up to win the 100 medley relay.  The quartet posting a time of 43.86, which broke the previous school record set in 2012 by over a second. 

The same quartet of swimmers also closed out the meet in record setting fashion as they went 39.51 to break the 100 free relay record by over a second. 

Eight different Patriots posted wins on the day, including one from Rasche, who edged out Zsomor Bene for first place as they clocked a 1:46.21 and 1:46.91, respectively. 

Jan Lucow clipped the NAIA provisional cut en route to a first place finish in the 100 back with a time of 54.15.   

Marcelo Rojas Ariza posted a pair of wins on the day beginning with the 100 breast where he touched the wall in 59.30.  He followed that up by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.01, which ranks sixth in the NAIA.  The sophomore also clipped the provisional cut in the 100 fly.

Creed Farthing notched a win in the 50 free (22.52), while Sergio Saldmando Martinez won the 500 free with a time of 4:54.17. 

Ruthiik Satti went 24.30 to win the 50 back, while Gavin Hickman tallied UC's final win of the meet in diving, where he scored a 178.45 on one-meter.

Cruz (51.45) and Irmer (52.74) both clipped the provisional cut in the 100 fly, while Juan Ramirez Zapata (4:19.99) notched the standard in the 400 IM.

Cumberlands returns to the pool on Friday, November 22^nd, when they travel to Danville, KY to take part in the Centre College Invite.
