No. 4 Women's Wrestling Finishes Competing at Patriot Duals

Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots Women's Wrestling team concluded their weekend with the second day of the Patriot Duals. UC's Blue Squad went 3-2 on day two and 6-3 on the weekend.

BLUE SQUAD | #4 CUMBERLANDS STUMBLES AGAINST CAMPBELLSVILLE, 30-14
The Patriots opened their first dual of the day with a forfeit for Dutchess King in the 103 bout. Shammilka Miranda marked three points for the Patriots in a 14-8 decision over her opponent.

In the 160-weight class, Sierra Mefford marked a 3-0 decision over her opponent to notch another three points for UC. Saiheron Preciado-Meza rounded it out with a 7-4 decision but was not enough as UC fell 30-14.
 
BLUE SQUAD | #4 CUMBERLANDS DROPS CONTEST TO KING, 39-6
In their second dual of the day, UC went head-to-head with King University.

Micah Fisher notched the lone points for the Patriots with a forfeit in the 160-weight class.

BLUE SQUAD | #4 CUMBERLANDS FALLS SHORT AGAINST LIFE, 28-17
In their third dual of the day, Cumberlands saw Mary Jane Porter record three points in a 3-1 decision over her opponent. Trailing 16-4, Lena Taylor recorded a fall in 1:35 followed by Alivia Ming with a fall in 1:20 to see UC climb to 16-14.

In the 180 bout, Preciado-Meza notched a 5-1 decision for three points but was ultimately not enough.

In their fourth dual of the day, UC went head-to-head with Lindsey Wilson College. The Patriots were victorious due to the Blue Raiders forfeiting the dual.

BLUE SQUAD | #4 CUMBERLANDS STOMPS INDIANA TECH, 36-12
In their final dual of the day, King marked a fall in 3:00 in the first match to collect five points for UC. Miranda followed with another fall in 2:13, seeing the Patriots take a 11-4 lead.

In the 131 bout, Porter notched a 10-0 tech fall over her opponent followed by Annabelle Suto with a fall in 1:05 (138-weight class). Ming recorded a fall in 1:05 in the 145 bout followed by Mefford with a fall in 2:15.

Fisher rounded it out for the Patriots, recording a fall in 5:35 to give UC the 36-12 victory.

UC will return to the mats Tuesday, December 10, for their first Mid-South Conference dual of the season in Columbia, KY. They will go head-to-head with the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders starting at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
