Lawrenceville, GA – The Cumberlands men's tennis team fell to #20 Our Lady of the Lake 4-0 to open the Georgia Gwinnett Open on Thursday.
The Pats dropped the doubles point to take an early 1-0 advantage, as the Grizzlies took two matches and the third went unfinished.
Manuel Fernandez Guede and
Lucas Duran battled at #2 doubles, but ultimately fell in a tough battle 7-5.
Martin Muller and
Hung Ju Wu were tied at 6, before seeing their doubles match go unfinished.
UC dropped three singles matches, while three went unfinished.
Martin Muller won the opening set 6-2 at #1 singles, before dropping the next two sets.
Pierluigi Cruypenninck had a strong showing, building a 6-4, 1-1 lead at #4 singles, before his match went unfinished.
The Patriots are back in action on Friday, as they take on top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett.
