Louisville, KY – UC posted four NAIA national standards on the final day of the Rod McCravy Memorial on Saturday, including an A cut in the 4x400 to finish the meet on a high note.
UC's 4x400 A team ran the fastest time in the NAIA this season, crossing the finish line in 3:15.71 for sixth place overall and a new program record.
Kerrington Eubanks and
Roderick Soto ran the opening two legs before
Jaysaun Smith and
Grayson Rahbany took over for the final two laps. The Patriots had three other teams run in the 4x400 as well as
Nigel Steenwinkel,
Jelle Golbach,
Alvaro Legaz, and
Seth Massie ran a 3:28.50 for 12
th.
Eddie Van Wyk,
Travion Dotson,
Kenny Wilburn, and
Daniel Dixon combined for a 3:28.65 finish for 13
th while
Andrew Yeary,
Jackson Lowe,
Max Young, and
Ryan Ehrler ran a 3:34.37 for 14
th.
Jaysaun Smith hit his second NAIA standard of the weekend, winning the 400m dash with a 48.01 finish. This is a new program record in the 400m and is the third fastest in the NAIA this year. Kenenth Wilburn was the second Patriot to finish in this race, running a 51.64 for 20
th overall.
The 800m featured seven UC runners, including
Hauke Trost who ran a 1:53.30 for third place, and a B standard. His time marks the fourth fastest in the country this season.
Jackson Lowe and
Reed Richardson compiled top-10 finishes as well with time sof 1:58.79 and 1:59.17 for ninth and 10
th. AJ Barker clocked a 2:00.03 finish for 12
th while
Christopher Morse and
Clay Hogue ran 800m times of 2:02.04 and 2:08.41.
Brian Nwachukwu rounded out the Pats in this event with a 2:08.85 finish for 15
th.
Noah McClellan was the third individual Patriot to hit a standard on Saturday, running an 8:24.47 3K.
Cuauhtemoc Fitiao finished 12
th in the 3000m with an 8:41.23 finish while
Ryan Ehrler clocked an 8:52.01 for 15
th overall.
Four Patriots competed in the 60m hurdle semifinals on Saturday.
Jelle Golbach led the group with an 8.471 finish for 13
th.
Brandon Green crossed the finish line with his teammate at 8.48 while
Alvaro Legaz ran an 8.49.
Nigel Steenwinkel rounded out the group with a 16
th place finish in 8.67.
The mile also saw four patriot finishers in a row led by
Andrew Yeary who ran a 4:27.19 for 12
th.
Max Young and
Maddox Knight came in behind Yeary with times of 4:27.56 and 4:29.02 while
Dillan Melchiore ran his mile in 4:30.06 for 15
th.
UC's throwers competed in the shot put on the second day of the Rod McCravy Memorial.
Lucas Lambo finished the day with a 13.92m toss for 15
th just in front of a 13.09m mark from
Dratavyn Barber. Rilley Massey posted a 10.37m throw for 19
th as well.
Cumberlands will be right back in Louisville, KY next week for the Bellarmine Open. Events stars on Friday, January 17
