Danville, KY – The Cumberlands men's swimming team showcases its depth and versatility Friday night as they notched nine wins and 14 NAIA provisional cuts in a double-dual meet.  UC defeated Centre 133-104, while they took down Transylvania 171-65 in their final road meet before the MSC Championships.

The Patriots opened the night by winning the 200 medley relay. Ruthiik Satti, Leon Irmer, Juan Pablo Ramirez Zapata, and Creed Farthing joined forces for a winning time of 1:33.88.

Agustin Rasche continued her strong season tallying a pair of wins.  The sophomore went 20.75 in the 50 free before clocking a 46.28 to win the 100 free.  Arda Mutlu finished runner up in the 100 free touching the wall in 48.07.

Mutlu led the way in the 200 free where he went 1:43.13 to earn the victory.  Jeremiah Koenig clocked a 1:43.95 to be runner-up, as Ramirez Zapata was third with a provisional cut time of 1:44.33. 

Cumberlands had the top finisher in each stroke event.  Mateus Lopez Cruz went 50.99 to win the 10 back, while Leon Irmer touched the wall in 56.20 in the 100 breast.  Satti pulled away from the field and clocked a 49.86 in the 100 fly, as Ramirez Zapata notched his second provisional cut going 52.00 to place third.

Marcelo Rojas captured the Patriots final individual win as he clocked a 1:53.60 to win the 200 IM.  Zsombor Bene touched the wall with a provisional cut time of 1:56.22 to be runner-up.

UC closed out the meet with the quartet of Cruz, Rasche, Satti and Eli Henry teaming up to go 1:125.15 to pull away from the field and win the 200 free relay.

UC returns to the pool tomorrow when they host Indiana Wesleyan for their regular season finale.  The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m. and the Patriots will honor their seniors prior to meet.
