Bowling Green, KY – For the second time this season, Lea Kunstmann was named Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.    

The Freising, Bavaria, Germany native led the Patriots at the Appalachian Challenge this weekend, posting a third-place finish with a time of 17:23.71. This marks the fastest time by a Patriot this season and the second fastest time in program history in the 5K.   

Kunstmann's efforts helped UC finish second out of 18 teams in a highly competitive field that featured 187 runners from multiple nationally ranked NAIA teams in the 5K race. This is the second MSC Runner of the Week honor of her career and the third by a Patriot this season. 

The Patriots will return to competition at the Mid-South Conference Championships on Friday, November 7 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
