Greencastle, IN – The Patriots women's swimming & diving team saw a plethora of strong performances as Cumberlands achieved five wins and 10 NAIA provisional cuts on day one of their dual meet with DePauw.  At the midway point in the meet, UC is trailing DePauw 97.5-87.5 in the team standings.

UC opened the meet with a one-two finish in the 1,000 free as Juliana Lopez Morales clocked a 10:29.17, which is the top-time in the NAIA by 15 seconds.  Teammate Bella Hoare went 10:44.06 to finish runner-up and hold the second fastest time in the NAIA.

Hoare followed that up by pulling away from the field to tallying a winning time of 4:32.13 in the 400 IM.  That marks the second fastest time in the NAIA this season and the fifth fastest time in program history.  Helena Jarosz also hit the provisional cut, touching the wall in 4:50.35.

Ugne Takuseviciute continued her strong sophomore campaign as she clocked a 1:52.92 to win the 200 free.  That time is the third fastest time in program history and is the top-time in the country this season.

The Patriots recorded the top four finishers in the 100-breast led by Megan Schoenlein, who posted a winning time of 1:06.83, which ranks fourth in the NAIA. Moa Nyblom posted the fifth fastest time clocking a 1:07.00, while Kathryn Harrison went 1:07.18.  Lauren Cox (1:07.88) rounded out the top four.

Morgan Schraudner notched Cumberlands final win of the day as she scored a 194.30 on the one-meter board.  Ella Parke posted a season-best score of 169.85 to finish second.

The Patriots had a pair of swimmers hit the provisional standard in the 50 free.  Celin Ullern clocked a 24.59, while Victoria Niska went 25.12.  The final standard of the night was achieved by Sarah Zoellner touching the wall in 1:01.37 for the 100 back.

UC returns to the water Saturday, November 1^st, when they hit the water for the final day of competition against DePauw. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
