Bowling Green, KY – For the first time in her career, Micah Miller has been named the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Miller, ranked #9 at 160 lbs, put together an impressive performance at the Missouri Valley Open, earning a third-place finish and posting an 8-1 record against a stacked field of competitors from NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA programs.

She opened her run with back-to-back decision victories, defeating Maegan Flaherty (Texas Woman's) 6-1 and Belen Lopez (Simon Fraser) 7-4. After suffering her lone loss of the tournament to unattached competitor Leolyn Karnowski by fall in 2:33, Miller rebounded with an outstanding stretch in the consolation bracket.

The junior scored a narrow 5-4 decision over #17 Makayla Munoz (Oklahoma City) to advance, then extending her dominance with a win by forfeit. She continued to attack, edging Vida Beckel (Emmanuel) in a 4-2 decision before pinning Aniya Roberts (Southeast CC), ranked 4th in the NJCAA, in just 46 seconds.

Miller then avenged her earlier loss to Karnowski with a 6-2 decision to advance to the third-place match, where she closed out the weekend in dominant fashion with an 11-0 tech fall over Kiley Dillow (unattached) to secure her podium finish.

Miller becomes the first Patriot to earn Wrestler of the Week honors this season, highlighting her consistency and resilience against a deep field of ranked competition.

The Patriots will return to the mats on Friday, December 6, to host the Patriot Duals inside the UC Volleyball Gym in Williamsburg, KY.
